Bill retired from the U.S. Army where he served in multiple high-level combat logistical positions overseas and key research, development, and procurement assignments. His entire career has centered on making supply chain more nimble and responsive.
As the Site Director of Clemson University’s Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored model factory with responsibilities for locating, developing, integrating, and demonstrating the world’s most advanced manufacturing and supply chain technologies and management practices. Balanced Inventory was developed at Clemson to provide unique software for manufacturing and supply chain wide inventory optimization.
Bill holds BS and MS degrees in Textile Technology from North Carolina State University, a MBA with a concentration in logistics from Babson College, and is a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
Steven McLendon is CEO of Balanced Inventory, a cloud based software as a service (SaaS) company providing one-of-a-kind Inventory Optimization solution.
In his last position, Steven served as president & CSMO of Awnex, Inc., an architectural element design through manufacturing and installation company servicing the Restaurant and Retail Industry.
Prior, Steven served as president of Nester Software Technologies, a software company specializing in manufacturing optimization systems and services for a variety of industries including apparel, footwear, automotive, furniture, aerospace, and marine.
Prior to joining Nester, McLendon served in a variety of corporate management, marketing, sales, and professional services positions. Steven has over 25 years of experience in promoting advanced manufacturing technologies in manufacturing. His career has transitioned from territory sales to executive management responsibilities. Having held a variety of positions at John E. Fox, Inc., Microdynamics Inc., Apparel Computer Systems (ACS), Eton Systems, and Nester Software Technologies, he is recognized as a top producing, customer-centric professional.
McLendon is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. He is a past chairman of the AAFA’s Enterprise Competitiveness Council (ECC), also serving as Chairman of that organization’s International Conference on Best Practices and its Task Group on Mass Customization. He also served on the Technical Advisory Committee of the National Textile Center (NTC). Steven has authored and contributed to numerous articles on manufacturing and supply chain optimization and sales and marketing methodology, and is a frequent speaker at industry symposiums, colleges and universities.
